Project Description

Integrating crop and pasture production in the same area is becoming popular in Brazil. This cropping system creates several agronomic advantages with time, which generally results in higher yields and more profitability to the farmer. Phosphorus (P) is a key nutrient in these systems and only its adequate availability to the plants will lead to the desired success. This research project intends to focus on sources and rates of P in a typical cultivation system utilized in the State of Parana, Brazil. Results of this project will serve to guide farmers related to P nutrition to the plants included in the crop rotation.
