2014 Annual Interpretive Summary

This was the second and final year of the study. The treatments comprise a complete factorial arrangement of two irrigation methods (furrow and drip), two tillage systems (conventional and conservation), three N rates (0, 200 and 400 kg N/ha), and two P rates (0 and 22 kg/ha) with three replications.

Maize yield under conventional tillage (10.9 t/ha) was significantly higher than under conservation tillage (9.8 t/ha). No significant effects were detected from the application of P. The response of maize to N showed a parabolic response under furrow irrigation, whereas under drip irrigation it increased exponentially.
