1995 Annual Interpretive Summary

Potassium-silica interaction effects on rice production and disease control, 1995

Potassium and silicon (Si) were found to increase rice yields by 25 percent, to 7.4 t/ha when fertilizer rate was 135-68-180-300 kg/ha N-P2O5-K2O-Si and rice was grown on one of the major acid soils in Sichuan province. No yield response to K or Si was observed in trials on another acid soil although yields were consistently lower in the second trial. Both K and Si are yield-limiting factors for rice. SICHUAN-08
