1996 Annual Interpretive Summary

The effect of various sulfur sources on the yield of a major lowland and upland cropping system in Guangxi province, 1996

The suitability of commonly available sources of S was determined for a paddy (rice-rice) system and an upland (corn-soybean) system in Guangxi province. Following application of proper amounts of N, P and K project results indicated both cropping systems responded well to fertilizer S. Yields averaged 10 percent higher with S. It appears the lowland rice system responded better to either an ammonium sulfate or elemental S source, while the upland was more suited for either single superphosphate (SSP) or gypsum. GUANGXI-09
