There was no obvious response of potash added to corn in Mingqin county, northern Gansu and Lanzhou in 2000. Balanced fertilizers with 428-214-371-13 kg N-P2O5-K2O-Zn/ha vs. K0 significantly increased apple yield by 2563 kg/ha or 19.1% in Qing-an county, southern Gansu. This can be applicable to 212 thousand ha of apple orchard and estimated potential for increased K2O use per year on apple can reach to about 12 thousand tons (by 15% of increase per year).
