To determine the effect of soil moisture on barley response to N and P fertilization applied in different rate combinations and using different fertilizer placements. To develop fertilizer N - water production functions for barley. To determine if growth regulators, and other intensive crop management practices are needed for maximum production under adequate soil moisture and high N fertility conditions.
