Effect of K and Cl on wheat stem sawfly damage and disease incidence in dryland and irrigated wheat

Project assessing the effect of K and Cl nutrition on crop disease and wheat stem sawfly infestation in wheat.

Zero, 15, 30 and 60 lbs K/ac as KCl and KNO3 will be applied, broadcast on two locations of dryland winter wheat and two locations of dryland spring wheat while seeding. Zero, 25, 50 and 100 lbs k/ac as KCl and KNO3 will be applied broadcast on irrigated spring wheat while seeding. All experiments will have four replications, and preliminary soil tests will be taken to determine N and P rates. All plots will receive the same rate of N using ammonium nitrate as the N source.
