The effect of various sulfur sources on the yield of a major lowland and upland cropping system in Guangxi province

IPNI-1993-CHN-GX9

The effect of various sulphur sources on the yield of a major lowland and upland cropping system in Guangxi province, 1997 Sulfur sources such as single superphosphate (SSP), elemental S, ammonium sulfate [(NH4)2SO4] and gypsum were used in rice and corn at a 30 kg/ha rate. In rice, either one-half gypsum and one-half elemental S or SSP alone gave the best yield of 7. 58 and 7. 4 t/ha, respectively. Yields for the two treatments were 12. 6 percent and 10 percent greater than the zero S control. Read more

Interpretive Summary

1997

The effect of various sulphur sources on the yield of a major lowland and upland cropping system in Guangxi province, 1997 Sulfur sources such as single superphosphate (SSP), elemental S, ammonium sulfate [(NH4)2SO4] and gypsum were used in rice and corn at a 30 kg/ha rate. Yields for the two treatments were 12. 6 percent and 10 percent greater than the zero S control.

1996

The effect of various sulfur sources on the yield of a major lowland and upland cropping system in Guangxi province, 1996 The suitability of commonly available sources of S was determined for a paddy (rice-rice) system and an upland (corn-soybean) system in Guangxi province. Following application of proper amounts of N, P and K project results indicated both cropping systems responded well to fertilizer S. Yields averaged 10 percent higher with S.
