Interpretive Summary

1997

Maximum yield research for citrus in Sichuan province, 1997 There was a general benefit to the application of 0. 36 kg K2O/tree, but responses to P fertilizer ranged from slightly positive to slightly negative. This may be due to the interaction between P, S and micronutrients. A comparison between muriate of potash (MOP) and potassium sulfate (SOP) as a source of K in citrus revealed a slight yield advantage to SOP. However, the economic analysis revealed no advantage for using SOP over MOP.

1996

Maximum yield research for citrus in Sichuan province, 1996 Maximum yield research conducted in four counties of Sichuan province found superior citrus yields, sugar contents, acidities and percent solids with the inclusion of muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer programs. The best yields and economic returns were achieved with sufficient N and P plus 0. 58 kg K2O/tree in the MOP form. The study found no consistent yield or fruit quality response to applied P.
