Nutrient management strategies project in Chongqing, 1999 The experiments were conducted on four acidic purple soils to test the effect of balanced fertilizers on yield and quality of green pepper. The balanced fertilizer treatments (210-315 kg K2O/ha) over farmer’s practice (K0) increased sweet pepper yields by 5474-11701 kg/ha (33. 1%-71. 3%) and net income by RMB 5867-15467 yuan/ha in the acid garden soils.
