Interpretive Summary

Nutrient Management Strategies for Banana in Hainan, 2005 Two monitored villages were established in Ledong and Dongfang counties during 2003, wherein soil nutrient limitations were initially identified through soil testing and subsequently transferred to digitized nutrient variability maps in 2004.

Nutrient Management Strategies in Hainan, 2004 Soil nutrient limitations in two monitored villages were identified in 2003 through soil testing and results were subsequently digitized as nutrient variability maps in 2004. Field trials were conducted and the information obtained will be applied to a national information systems database which should assist decision making by both industry and government.

Nutrient Management Strategies in Hainan, 2003 Meilan County and the state-owned Nanbin Farm in Hainan were selected to determine local soil nutrient status and existing nutrient variability with the goal of developing site-specific nutrient management techniques capable of sustaining improved crop yields and farmers’ profit.
