Previous studies have verified that the Nutrient Expert(R) (NE)-based fertilizer recommendation can improve nutrient use efficiency without sacrificing grain yield for winter wheat and summer maize systems. This project in 2014 was conducted to validate NE for winter wheat and summer maize in farmer fields and compare them with farmer fertilizer practice (FP) in larger sized fields. Two sites with 1. 7 ha were selected in Shanxi in 2014.

This study was conducted to validate Nutrient Expert® (NE)-based fertilizer recommendations for winter wheat and summer maize in farmer fields and compare them with current farmer fertilizer practices (FFP). Seven on-farm experiments each for winter wheat and summer maize were conducted in Linfen, Shanxi Province.

Nutrient Expert®-based Fertilizer Recommendations for Winter Wheat and Summer Maize in Shanxi, 2012. This study was conducted to validate Nutrient Expert® (NE)-based fertilizer recommendations for winter wheat and summer maize in farmer fields and compare them with farmer fertilizer practice (FFP). For this, 13 on-farm experiments for winter wheat and 16 on-farm experiments for summer maize were conducted in Linfen, Shanxi province.

Work in 2009 optimized nutrient management in summer maize for increased yield and fertilizer use efficiency in Shanxi.

Nutrient Management and Balanced Fertilization for Major Crops in Shanxi Intensification of agricultural production with poor nutrient management practices has decreased N use efficiency and increased environmental pollution in northcentral China. Work in 2008 optimized N application timing in a winter wheat-summer maize rotation system for increased yield and fertilizer use efficiency in Shanxi. A field experiment conducted in Linfen tested five N timing options.

Nutrient Management and Balanced Fertilization of Wheat, Corn, and Rice in Shanxi, 2007 Nutrient imbalance is a large problem interfering with the improvement of farmer yields and incomes. In Shanxi Province in 2007, work was carried out to monitor yield responses to balanced fertilization in selected crops.

Soil Nutrient Management and Balanced Fertilization for Selected Crops in Shanxi, 2006 Survey data from two villages of Shanxi Province indicate that nutrient imbalance is a large problem interfering with the improvement of farmers’ yields and incomes. The objective of this work was to monitor yield responses to balanced fertilization (BF) strategies in selected crops.
