Increasing Flax Yields: A Closer Look at Fertilizer Utilization and Weed Management, 1996

Researchers in Manitoba and Saskatchewan are investigating ways of improving the efficiency of N and P fertilization in zero-till flax. Producers are concerned they are not optimizing their yield potential using current production practices and feel better fertilizer management could be the key to increased production. Initial results indicate that side-banding N with P at seeding provides the best yields. They also suggest a one-pass seeding and fertilizer system will work well in flax if there is good separation between the seed and fertilizer. SK-18
