Kenneth M Pretty Graduate Scholarship

In memory of Kenneth M. Pretty (OAC '51) a scholarship of $2,000 is awarded annually to a student in the Department of Land Resource Science (School of Environmental Sciences, University of Guelhph) who is conducting research in the area of plant nutrition or soil fertility. The recipient will be selected on the basis of high academic achievement. The funds are provided jointly by the late K.M. Pretty and by his former employer, The Phosphate Institute of Canada (now International Plant Nutrition Institute). Application is not required. Awarded annually to a student in the Department of Land Resource Science who is conducting research in the area of plant nutrition or soil fertility.

2014 Annual Interpretive Summary


In memory of Kenneth M. Pretty (OAC '51), a scholarship of $2,000 is awarded annually to a student in the School of Environmental Sciences, University of Guelph, who is conducting research in the area of plant nutrition or soil fertility. The recipient is selected on the basis of high academic achievement. The funds are provided jointly by the late Dr. K.M. Pretty and by his former employer, The Potash & Phosphate Institute of Canada (now International Plant Nutrition Institute). Application is not required. In 2014, the award was presented to Yuki Audette, Ph.D. candidate, who is doing research on the effect of organic matter additions on mineral and organic P fractions and forms in soils. The award was not presented in 2015.
