1995 Annual Interpretive Summary

Maximum yield research on cotton in Anhui, 1995

Decreasing cotton production is threatening Anhui's textile industry. A major reason for lower production is low rates of unbalanced fertilizer nutrient application to this nutrient demanding crop. The highest rates of fertilizer application, 300-90-270 kg/ha N-P2O5-K2O produced 1,517 kg cotton/ha. Yields were 14 percent higher compared to the no potash treatment and 6 percent more compared to the 60 kg P2O5/ha treatment. The highest yield level has not been reached with the fertilizer rates used at this location. ANHUI-08
