1997 Annual Interpretive Summary

Maximum yield research for citrus in Sichuan province, 1997

There was a general benefit to the application of 0.36 kg K2O/tree, but responses to P fertilizer ranged from slightly positive to slightly negative. This may be due to the interaction between P, S and micronutrients. A comparison between muriate of potash (MOP) and potassium sulfate (SOP) as a source of K in citrus revealed a slight yield advantage to SOP. However, the economic analysis revealed no advantage for using SOP over MOP. The yield increase experienced with SOP application was likely a result of additional S fertility. SICHUAN-09
